Description

Product Overview Zopisign 10 mg is a brand name for zopiclone 10 mg, a prescription non-benzodiazepine hypnotic agent (commonly known as a “Z-drug”). It is primarily used for the short-term treatment of severe insomnia in adults, including difficulty falling asleep, frequent night awakenings, or early morning waking, where the insomnia is debilitating or causing severe distress. Zopiclone acts on the brain to produce a calming effect by enhancing the activity of the neurotransmitter GABA.

Important Warning This medicine is intended for short-term use only (typically 2–4 weeks maximum, including tapering). Prolonged use can lead to tolerance, physical and psychological dependence, and withdrawal symptoms. It is a controlled substance in many countries due to potential for abuse and addiction. Next-day impairment (“hangover” effect) is common—ensure at least 7–8 hours of sleep. Complex sleep-related behaviors (e.g., sleep-walking, sleep-driving, sleep-eating) have been reported. Always follow your doctor’s instructions precisely.

Note on Strength Zopisign is most commonly available as 7.5 mg. The 10 mg strength is less common and considered a higher dose. Dosage and Administration

• Adults: Usual recommended dose is 7.5 mg immediately before bedtime. If specifically prescribed 10 mg, take only as directed.
• Elderly (over 65 years), debilitated, or patients with liver/kidney impairment: Lower dose strongly recommended (e.g., 3.75 mg or maximum 7.5 mg).
• Take on an empty stomach for faster onset. Ensure you can have a full night’s sleep.

Common Side Effects

• Bitter or metallic taste in the mouth (very common)
